Nissan Leaf Competition: The Big Turn On ( TBTO )

I like to write a small thanks to all my followers helping me to win “The Big Turn On” competition. For the many, many that asked their friends to vote. Thank you. For those that passed on the question and asked the friends of their friends, thank you even more. You spread out the network and made social media come to its full power.

Montfoort is now in communication with Nissan how & where to install the won Quickchargers. As you have read in the competition, they won 30 Quickchargers, far to many to put in a small community in the ‘Green Hart’ of Holland. Other ideas, like placing a Quickcharger in adjacent towns are discussed soon. So more people can benefit from the winning of Holland in this competition.

I normally do not post personal pictures in this blog, since it has to do with the I-MiEV, but at request of people, I herewith do.

You may understand from winning this competition, and winning a Nissan Leaf that holding on to multiple cars is not an option. I will be selling my Renault Scenic ( diesel ) and this Mitsubishi I-MiEV soon after receiving the Nissan Leaf.

This “My MiEV” blog will continue on a new “Nissan Leaf” wordpress site. Also a Leaf twitter account will be used for driving “My Leaf” @My_Leaf

I will be exclusively driving EV.

I will let you know the progress on the delivery.

EV criminality

A new speciality of criminal behaviour. Kicking over chargepoles. Here in Holland I came across this sad site of a chargepole being kicked over. This is the same spot where many times the ‘normal’ petrol cars are parked at the designated EV charging spot. The police does nothing against wrong parking. Will they wake up against this more violent behaviour against chargingpole or will they let this slide too?

Today I saw one of the e-laad chargepole been destroyed.

What is your opinion on how police should act against this distructive people.

What punishment do you think is fare against breaking (public) things.

I would like to hear your opinion.

Feel free to comment your own ideas

Summer time and the….. is easy.

Do you know the classic “Summer Time”  it goes like ” …and the living is easy”. Well in the summer time driving an electric car is EASY, WONDERFULL and full of JOY. Let the music of Gershwin play in the background when you drive a day in the Nissan Leaf for FREE* . I did so myself a few weeks ago.

If you see me driving in the Netherlands in my Mitsubishi I-MiEV and would like to get a ride, don’t hesitate to give me a tweet @MY_MiEV

The Big Turn On testdrive with the Nissan LEAF

I almost felt guilty when signing up for the Nissan Leaf competition and testdrive. I have been driving my Mitusbishi Miev with such pleasure and joy the last year and 3 month, driving over 38.000km in winter and summer, that this felt a bit strange.

Well Last friday I made a testdrive and my first concept preview can be seen on Youtube in 3D if you like!   ( http://youtu.be/KJcP0kEdPm4 )

This is the intro: getting the car and such. Next week I will take you on the 50 minutes drive, 65 km and tell you a little about my insights on the Nissan Leaf.

See you than and don’t forget to get more info on the Nissan Leaf here:

The Big Turn Om

Day 31 already in the contest ( its not a chance game ) of Nissan Europe “The Big Turn On”. In this contest participants need to getting as much ‘likes’ as possible.

But the real question is, why would we start driving electric? I hope you read my blog a little. There are many advantages in driving electric and also some nig disadvanteges sure. Just check your own situation. Are you driving -most of the time- within 100 km per day. Than driving electric is super. Especially when you drive in congested cities.

ChaDeMo ( charge while having a cup of thee )
Did you know that the Mitsibishi i-MiEV and the Nissan Leaf, which came to the Ductch market just after eachother both use the ChaDeMo quickcharging system! More and more quickchargers are placed in Holland and beyond.
We are getting electrified !

THATs WHY
Do you know that a lot of people get sick from the small particals that cars and trucks exhaust. People that are living within a range of 100 meter of a highway or very busy road have a very high chance in getting all kind of long desease and/or breathing problems. Even in a small country like The Netherlands.

YOU
So look at your own situation, read my blog if you like and decide: is it worth looking into?

DECIDE
Decide for your self and when you do have a look at bit.ly/turnmeom to support me and get more information on the Nissan Leaf.

Here is a photo of a try out day of electrical vehicle in an adjacent town where I live.

TrafficRadio : the interview

Hi guys, I am invited to be on the radio. I scared shitless !

SO DON’T listen to the internet broadcast on http://www.trafficradio.nl at 16:00-19:00 CET ( GMT + 1 ) since you will possibly hear me stutter or blabber about how much I like driving my EV…. in dutch.

Blog you later.
